B4 car park is a dramatic transformation from newspaper printing works and well known Birmingham landmark .

After a recent assessment by the British Parking Association and local police assessor the car park was awarded the prestigious Park Mark.

The enormous site has six floors of underground car parking with the latest technology, including automatic number plate recognition and a dedicated website for customers to upload their car registration rather than use a standard coin pay and display machine.

To achieve the Park Mark award, a car park must demonstrate high standards of surveillance (including patrols), lighting, access control, physical appearance and management practices. These measures are known to reduce vehicle related crime and the fear of crime in car parks.

Michael Gardner, Safer Parking Scheme Area Manager, said: “The police assessor and I originally reviewed the plans prior to work starting several years ago. It was amazing to finally see the finished car park and the meticulous detail, hard work and expert knowledge of the team involved to achieve this high standard. I was delighted to present it with the Park Mark award.

“The scheme celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2014. Reaching this landmark birthday is due to organisations being committed to achieving high standards and it shows they care about their customers’ experiences.”

Mark Billingham, Director of B4 Parking Ltd, said: “B4 Car Park offers an unrivalled parking experience in Birmingham city centre. Our aim is to provide a welcoming, safe and secure environment for our customers and their vehicles. We have achieved this through the use of ANPR technology, bay monitoring and CCTV coverage. In addition, we have a team of staff on site 24 hours a day dedicated to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and providing assistance to customers. We offer various flexible ticket options and customers can choose to become a B4 Member. It’s free to join and offers a 10% discount on the parking tariff along with other benefits.”
